The All Island Meeting & BBQ was a success !!!  It was a hot day but really fun to see everyone and
enjoy the variety of food provided by all.
Thanks very much to all of the volunteers!
Meeting Recap:

Infrastructure Repairs and Improvements
The septic and electrical systems are being upgraded and are more than halfway around the Island.  The new fire
main system will also eventually allow individual lots to hook up to this main river water system.  Training on the Fire
system will occur soon.

Financial
The Island Board and Shareholders have approved spending on all Island money to run the Island (insurance, taxes,
state and county fees, garbage, road etc.)  and the Infrastructure repairs stated above.  Spending occurs until we
run out each year.  If we run short then the Island has a line of credit that is used to bridge until fees are collected.

Safety
Safety of people and our unique Island community is the highest priority.
  • The BOD and Shareholders thank all of you for being so diligent in assuring that no Fireworks threatened our
island on the 4th of July or anytime.  We have heard from outside agencies including fire and law enforcement
that an "incident" caused by fireworks can call attention to us and threaten our existence.  We discussed the
possibility of obtaining a permit from a licensed contractor to provide fireworks in the future.  A volunteer
from the island is looking into this.
  • KIPP = Kings Island Protection Program.  This is a group of volunteers who monitor the health and safety of
lots.  This is not a beauty contest!  They report to the Management Company unsafe electrical, fire hazard and
    generally unsafe and unkempt conditions.
  • State and County Agencies - trying to have good relations with state and county agencies.  The BOD
encourages all communications to be through the BOD.  WE are currently investigating how to best protect
    our Island.
  • CPR Training - trying to organize CPR training on the Island soon.
  • Magnets - Emergency phone numbers on magnets will be available soon.
  • New Insurance carrier recommended "No Diving" signs, and better access to individual lots for safety and
response.  This includes but is not limited to:  unlocking gates on road and keeping fences that are parallel
with the seawall at least 3 feet back from the seawall.  Your help on this is greatly appreciated.
  • Bulletin board boxes will be put up around the Island and will contain emergency numbers and Island updates
(can also be found on Website).

The Island Website - www.kingsisland-ca.com
Is up and running and will have updates and other useful information.  Place items for sale and sign up for a roster
that will be published on the site soon.  Plastic cups with the website address were handed out at the meeting.  If
you didn't get yours please see Lisa on lot 55.

Fishing University -  we had some fishing instruction for kids provided by Rick DeGaetano (and yes, they actually
caught some fish.)  If your kids need info about fishing techniques, see Rick on lot 68.
